One of the advantages of living in such a diverse and multicultural country is that you have the opportunity to try many different types of food from around the world.
This Greek salad bowl with tzatziki dressing will definitely become one of your favorites – especially if you like to eat fresh, healthy foods!
Mediterranean style foods like this Greek salad bowl are rich in protein and use many delicious, natural. One of the best parts about this is that you can just cut up most of the ingredients, throw them in a bowl, and you will have a complete, fast, and simple meal.
This is one of our favorite salads because besides being easy to make, it is a great choice to take for a “to-go” lunch. It is a great option to include in your weekly meal plan.
To add a bit more substance, we like to add whole wheat rice to make sure we get filled up.
One of our goals for this new year is to eat better, and this salad is definitely becoming a regular on our weekly menu. It is easy to put together – the hardest part is cutting the vegetables and that should only take a few minutes!
This is a great option when you invite family over for lunch or dinner during the warm summer months. The chicken is delicious and can be grilled outside or inside and it is even better if you let it marinate for a few hours.
I added olives to this version, because I love them! My family, on the other hand, doesn’t like them very much so I usually leave those off of theirs. Of course it is up to you to make changes based on your tastes!

Greek Salad Bowl with Tzatziki Dressing
Ingredients
For the Salad Bowl
- 1 Cup of Whole Wheat Rice
- 2-3 chicken breasts
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tablespoon of cumin
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Cucumber cut into medium sized pieces
- 1/2 Red onion sliced
- Chopped lettuce
- Feta Cheese
- Black Olives
- Cherry tomatoes
For the Tzatziki Dressing
- 1 Cup of plain Greek yogurt
- 1 cucumber finely chopped
- 1 clove of garlic finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of fresh dill finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon of lime juice
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the rice
- Season the chicken with the garlic, cumin, salt and pepper and cook in a frying pan with a bit of oil or on the grill. Cut into cubes.
- Add the rest of the ingredients for the salad to a bowl and then top with the chicken and add the Tzatziki dressing.
For the Tzatziki Dressing
- Put all of the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
