If there is one thing that helps me feel right at home here in the United States, it is when I find products at the stores here that bring back memories from my youth. Many times it is when I find fruits that I was able to find in my yard in Mexico growing up, such as papaya, coconut, and even mango! I remember climbing trees with my siblings to cut these fruits down and then eating them right then and there!
As a result, when my mom would call us in for dinner, many times we would respond with “no thanks! we aren’t hungry anymore,” because we had already eaten so much fruit! These are definitely some memories that I hold close to my heart and that I love to remember now that I am so far from Mexico.
I moved here to the United States about 7 years ago to be with my husband, and even though I have been able to go back to Mexico to visit on occasion, it gets harder and harder every year! It is for that reason that when I find products that remind me of home, I just have to buy them!
A few weeks ago that happened when I was in the store with my three year old buying cheese and Mexican crema. I was just about to move on to another section of the store when I suddenly saw LALA Yogurt Smoothies! I couldn’t believe it at first, so I had to do a double take before realizing that the same yogurt, which was my favorite growing up in Mexico and which I took to school often, were right there in front of me! I could barely contain my emotion. If I could have let out a shout of joy right there in the store I would have!
Now maybe you think I am crazy for getting so excited, but let me explain. LALA Yogurt Smoothies have been one of my favorite products ever since I was a 5 year old little girl (so not so long ago! :)). When it was time to go to school, we always got up late and we weren’t always able to finish the breakfast that our mom made for us, so she would always give us a LALA Yogurt Smoothie and yell “this is for the road!” For some reason I always trusted that drinking LALA would give me a great start to my day. It definitely wasn’t hard for my siblings and me to enjoy them, because there are so many delicious flavors.
What makes me even happier is that these are available at so many stores now! I found them at another large supermarket shortly after that trip as well. In the past I was only able to find them at specialized Mexican markets, which are usually pretty far out of the way from where we live, so I almost never bought them. Now it is so much easier!
Now that I have such easy access to LALA Yogurt Smoothies I have them at my house all the time. Not only do I pack them in with my first grader’s lunch, but I also drink one myself in the morning to help me feel energized and ready for the day, and every time I do it brings back great memories from my youth.
LALA Yogurt Smoothies are definitely a life saver for me. They are so convenient to just grab in the morning when my boys are giving me a hard time about eating their breakfast. They also have helped me during my current pregnancy because they always help me feel better when I am feeling nauseous. I love that it is made with real fruit, is low fat, and has no artificial flavors or colors. I know that when I give my family LALA, I am giving them the best.
Finally, I am grateful that there are so many great flavors to keep in my refrigerator, because there is something for everyone. I love the tropical flavors, like mango and orange pineapple. My boys love the more traditional flavors, like banana and strawberry, and my husband now enjoys them just as much as I do – especially the blueberry flavor. He likes to take them with him to enjoy after he goes to the gym in the morning on his way to work.
LALA Yogurt Smoothies are definitely a product that I love and that I recommend to anyone! Here is a commercial that shows the many ways you can enjoy LALA!

We are on a restricted NO SALT from our cardiologist and found on you label that you add salt to your drinks which we love. Is there anything that you make that DOESEN'T HAVE SALT IN?
